Actress Joelle Bowling To Take On Typhoeus As The Film's Female Lead

Fort Walton Beach, Florida, March 5, 2010 -- New Blood Films has roped in local actress Joelle Bowling to play the lead female, Cilicia, in their new film "Typhoeus."

The new film tells the story of Cilicia, a police detective from the Urban Police Department, assigned to the Major Crimes Unit who comes into frequent contact with the horrific murders. She becomes involved with another homicide detective, named David, who is in the mixed of a brutal slew of murders, who is believed to be one deranged killer. As the tracks come together, it leads to a demonic past with an ending filled with violent bloodshed.

"I am very excited as well as fortunate to be involved in this amazing franchise and look forward to working with Mr. Russo on this new film," said Ms. Bowling.

Alan Russo, who will be directing the film, had revealed that he wanted the Florida native to play the role from the start, but is undecided as to who will play opposite of Bowling as the Lead Detective known as David.

"I couldn't be more pleased that we were able sign Joelle to the part of Cilicia," New Blood Films Chairman and CEO Alan Russo said. "I look forward to seeing how she translates the character on screen."

Russo has previously directed the 2000 film "Body Bag".

The film's preliminary release date is 2012.
