New Book About Feisty Grandma's Travels To Mongolia, Borneo With Grandson And Research Team, By Camels And Motorcycles.
Online, April 29, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The Memory of Vinegar and Oil: Origins Unified. This book is a semifictional account based upon Dr. Beltram's psychological and anthropological research in Mongolia, Borneo, Torajaland, Morocco, Italy, Spain and Greece. In Mongolia Dr. Beltram, a psychologist, was accompanied by her twelve year old grandson Jordan and a team of researchers, a chef, a homeopathic doctor, an astrologist, and a professor in music physics.
They trekked the Gobi Desert by camel sharing a meal of freshly killed hare accompanied by the Mongolian nomads. In the jungle of Borneo she studied the wild and endangered Orangutans with Dr. Birute'Galdikas. She ate rice and bananas with the Orangutans. In Torajaland they witnessed the gruesome funeral festivities and we follow them in the Hamman bath houses of Morocco. In Spain she discusses life, sex and death with a known psychiatrist at a bull fight and shares her knowledge of molecular cuisine with Chef Ferran Adria in Barcelona. In Italy they experienced love as they discuss the healing properties of food and spices. In Greece we join them at a traditional Gypsy wedding.
This semifictional account offers adventure, a journey into the unknown, spiritual questions and answers, healing of deep pus filled wounds from her childhood, and her marriage of abuse and painful divorce. Dr. Beltram has to find the strength to come to terms with her grown, and distant children, who are addicted to drug and alcohol, and their attempts at suicide.
Elide Beltram, Ph.D. is a psychoanalyst, a composer, pianist, and anthropologist. She speaks and teaches Italian, French, German, and English and has taught language to dolphins in Hawaii.
