New Business Helps People Enjoy Role-Playing Games
Online, June 14, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Gaming enthusiast Ryan Moore is poised to start doing business within two months, helping people learn and get the most out of role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, Anima: Beyond Fantasy, Call of Cthulhu, and others.
"These incredibly fun games are sometimes hard to approach," says Moore. "Role-playing games let you do just about anything, which means the rules can be complicated. The first time I tried to play D&D" (Dungeons & Dragons) "I didn't understand the rules and I had to give up. I don't want that to happen to other people."
Dungeons and Dragons, the epitome of role-playing games, lets players create characters like knights and wizards and take them on adventures, traveling to new places, fighting dangerous enemies, solving puzzles, and doing just about anything imaginable. One person, the Dungeon Master, designs the experience and controls everything the players don't. "It's a bit like a video game," says Moore, "but the difference is that now the game designer's a friend of yours and he's in the same room with you, making sure you get to use your character's powers, find challenges that you enjoy, and have as much fun as possible."
Moore, who now plays many of these games on a regular basis, says "A lot of people think these games are only for certain groups of people, or people who are good with math. It's a sadly self-perpetuating myth, because people hear things like that and they decide not to try it. I think everybody should get a turn and at least have the opportunity to see what they've been missing."
Ryan Moore Game Coaching, as the company is named, will help aspiring players and Dungeon Masters learn these games and play them well. The business will also serve gamers who want help designing adventures or creating the ideal character. Ryan Moore Game Coaching will operate via phone or email, or by in-person visits in Pennsylvania's Monroe and Northampton Counties. Moore adds that anyone interested in what he does is more than welcome to contact him for more information.
