New Civil War Novel Wins Top Award in National Book Contest

The romantic historical fiction novel Noble Cause receives highest honors for Best Regional Fiction and was a Finalist in the Romance and Historical Fiction categories.

The Next Generation Indie Book Awards has announced that Gettysburg author Jessica James has received first place in the Best Regional Fiction category for her new Civil War novel, Noble Cause.

Released last month in Charleston, S.C., during the 150th anniversary of the Civil War commemoration events, the novel was also a Finalist in the Romance and Historical Fiction categories.

Lauded for its ability to evoke intense emotion, Noble Cause presents the passionate debate of The War Between the States in an epic tale of love and adventure. The novel has received high praise from Civil War historians and authors, and continues to garner favorable reviews in both the historical and romantic fiction genres.

James' first novel Shades of Gray was a multi-award winner and resulted in her being featured in the book "50 Great Writers You Should be Reading," released in 2010.

The Next Generation Indie Book Awards is the largest Not-for-Profit book awards program for independent authors and publishers.
