New CMP90 Webcast Released By Catalyst Development

What is 'strategic salesmanship', and why does it transform the delivery of capital markets programme outcomes?

Catalyst Development has launched the third webcast in its series CMP90: Give your Capital Markets Programmes a 90% chance of success. The webcast - Business leadership: driving outcomes through 'strategic salesmanship' - is based on Catalyst's unique research into 250 capital markets projects, which highlighted the factors that account for success and failure.

Our research highlighted that it is leadership, rather than management, that makes the biggest difference between success and failure in a capital markets change or IT programme.

In this webcast Pete Stone, Catalyst's Head of Service Delivery, explains how leaders of programmes can drive the successful delivery of outcomes by moving from 'business case' to 'business story'.

Pete Stone says: "Leaders need become strategic salesmen - with a mindset of 'we're investing in changing the operation of our business' rather than 'we're investing in the building of an asset'. They need to spend time and effort helping people understand and commit to that change - very difficult in cross-geography and cross-domain programmes, but essential to build up the coalition necessary to deliver a successful outcome."

Strategic salesmanship involves the adoption of a new approach to designing and clarifying the business vision, and using different information to measure, track and actively govern the programme.

Catalyst's unique research into capital markets projects is the basis for CMP90 - a programme benchmarking tool and leadership action framework that helps capital markets firms increase the probability of a successful programme to 90%.
