New, Compact in Situ PCO2 Sensor (C-sense) Undefined
Turner Designs' C-sense enables pCO2 monitoring in a small, low-power configuration ideal for integration with monitoring systems
Online, February 11, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Turner Designs is very excited to offer C-sense, a compact, lightweight pCO2 sensor for measuring the partial pressure of gas in liquids. Designed for applications involving immersion in water, oil, or water and oil mixtures, C-sense combines an oil-resistant membrane interface with a compact temperature-compensated non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) detector. Small (less than 2" x 8"; 5cm x 20.3cm) and lightweight (less than 1lb; 0.5 kg) with low power requirements (6-12V DC, 80mA @ 6VDC) and a simple 4-pin analog output, C-sense is designed to easily integrate with monitoring systems at a significantly lower price than traditional submersible pCO2 sensors. C-sense is offered in three range configurations - 1000ppm, 2000ppm or 4000ppm with accuracies at 3% of full-scale and can be deployed to a depth of 600m.
C-sense was developed specifically for Turner Designs by Pro-Oceanus Systems Inc in Nova Scotia, Canada. Pro-Oceanus has been providing the oceanographic research community with accurate submersible pCO2 sensors for more than 8 years. "We are excited to work together with Pro-Oceanus in order to provide our customers with additional tools for water quality monitoring. Our Cyclops fluorometers filled a need for small, low-cost sensors and C-sense will expand these monitoring capabilities outside fluorescence, integrating alongside our Cyclops. Pro-Oceanus has been great to work with and we look forward to years of cooperation providing our customers with top quality sensors and excellent service. It's good to find a partner with common values and strengths." said Pam Mayerfeld, Turner Designs Vice President of Marketing and Sales.
