New Flexible Structure Method Offers In-Depth Guidance for Chronically Disorganized
Online, August 7, 2012 (Newswire.com) - For many, getting organized at home or at work isn't as easy as buying new bins, rearranging a few things and deleting some old items.
That's why Minding Your Matters® has created a revolutionary new concept in the field of professional organizing: The Flexible Structure Method.™ This unique framework unites the specific aspects of organizing, such as decluttering and containerizing, with the less defined areas like managing outside clutter from societal influences. The seven components of this approach are based on the idea that people want organization to provide structure in their current environments, but flexibility to easily modify these systems as their personal or professional life changes. The method has already helped clients who use Minding Your Matters,® which often works with people who have struggled with organization and productivity their entire lives.
"Many organizing methods focus only on one or two aspects of the organizing process," said Janice Russell, president of Minding Your Matters.® "But to make real change happen, you must explore all the areas of a person's relationship with their stuff or tasks, including the items he or she brings in, how they flow out and even his or her daily habits and thoughts about those things."
The seven components are:
Set Real Boundaries
Make Smart Choices
Develop Meaningful Habits
Manage Outside Clutter
Manage Inside Clutter
Know Your Flow
Select Success Tools
Each component works with the others to address all facets of organizing or productivity challenges. For example, you can clear out clutter, but it will come back if you don't Make Smart Choices and Develop Meaningful Habits. You can resolve to purge, but your Internal Clutter may be interfering.
The proprietary Flexible Structure Method™ approach is something some professional organizers hint at, but this comprehensive format could revolutionize the way professional organizers work, said Olalah Njenga, CEO of Yellowwood Group.
"With the lines between work and life becoming more of a blur, we all crave proven and powerful strategies for establishing and maintaining 'work/life flow,'" Njenga said. "The Flexible Structure Method™ resets the standard for the organizing industry by introducing a model that can be quickly implemented and the results of which are immediately impactful."
Russell explains more about each components on the new Flexible Structure Method™ website, www.FlexibleStructureMethod.com. The site provides real-life examples and photos of how to apply the principles in your daily activities. (See an image to illustrate FSM on the website.)
"It's really not just about that magic solution, a bin or a box, but about taking a step back and looking at all the pieces," Russell said. "We hope this new approach will help people think about organization and productivity in a new way."
