New Indie Film to Be Four-Walled in Los Angeles "South 32" Opens April 15, 2016 Exclusively at the Laemmle Noho 7

"SOUTH 32" Opens April 15, 2016 Exclusively At The Laemmle NoHo 7 In Los Angeles, CA

A young woman wakes up in a hospital discovering she is the sole survivor of a murderous crime scene in Malibu. The grudging response of two homicide detectives pressures her into taking matters into her own hands. Bullying is an epidemic, and revenge is a bitch.

On Friday, April 15, audiences in Los Angeles will have the opportunity to see "South 32," a powerful new indie film with a strong anti-bullying message directed by Jake Barsha.  Starring Melissa Archer (“One Life to Live”), Sean Kanan (“The Bold and the Beautiful”), Robert Paul Taylor (“East Los High”) and Mollee Gray (Disney’s "High School Musical" and "Teen Beach 1 & 2"). Supporting cast includes ‘Scream Queen’ Jessica Cameron, Sam Valentine, Mark Grossman, Corey Craig and Tom Wright.

Bullying can come in many different forms and have serious effects on everyone involved. The effects can be life long for those on the receiving end. If you see something, say something. Put a stop to harmful behavior.

Luigi Bian, Executive Producer

Melissa Archer (starring as Delilah) is well known as Natalie Buchanan on ABC’s “One Life to Live,” winning a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Newcomer for that role, and has also appeared in NBC's “Days of Our Lives.” Sean Kanan (starring as Detective Thomas) is an actor whose work includes long running leading roles in three of television’s most popular daytime dramas – “General Hospital,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and “The Young and the Restless.”

“South 32” was written and co-produced by Robert Paul Taylor and Jake Barsha and is based on an original story by Luigi Bian.

Luigi Bian is the film’s Executive Producer. He is a true “independent” in the world of film-making, committed to bringing poignant stories to the screen that address important social issues. Following the footsteps of Producers such as Roger Corman, Luigi has opted to take “South 32” directly to the North Hollywood Art District for a limited run allowing Los Angeles audiences the opportunity to see the film on the big screen, the way he believes that movies should be enjoyed.

This is the second feature film by director Jake Barsha (“The Funny Man,” “The Bathroom Diaries,” “Eugene”) who made his feature film debut in January 2009 with the independently produced movie "Eugene," which received its world premiere at The Palm Springs International Film Festival. Eleven other U.S. and international film festival screenings followed, garnering rave press reviews and warm accolades for “Eugene” from festival programmers. “Eugene” left audiences squirming in their seats at what The Palm Springs Film festival acclaimed as "a brilliantly disturbing psychological thriller."

"South 32" actor and co-writer, Robert Paul Taylor has successfully segued from the big & small screen, theater stage to book shelf. Robert plays Remy Ramirez on Hulu's Emmy Nominated Series “East Los High.”  Taylor also plays Sergeant Flex Hardbottom on ABC's “Mixology” and recently worked on FOX's “New Girl.” Taylor breathes life into Ray Peratta in the addictive series "The Bathroom Diaries," which also premiered last year at the Laemmle Theater in No Ho's Art District. As a writer Taylor has co-written numerous features and multiple volumes of Poetry & Prose which sell world wide on Amazon.com.

Executive Producer Luigi Bian says the creative team was inspired to make this film because bullying is a nationwide, urgent crisis.  “Bullying can come in many different forms and have serious effects on everyone involved, and often has life-long effects on the victims.  The frequently heard advice ‘If you see something, say something,' has never been more important.”
