Employers can now leave their apprentices to slate the main roof, knowing that they will lay the slates like a professional saving them time and money on the very first day of using the tool.
"We wanted to show that absolutely ANYONE could use The Jackson Slate Layer, so I asked a female apprentice roofer to try the tool out. After a 15 minute tutorial, she was able to lay just over 300 slates in 1 day!" Peter Jackson - Inventor of The Jackson Slate Layer and Director of Jackson Tools Ltd. "The design was conceived to enable anyone, with or without roofing knowledge, to lay roofing slates."
The Jackson Slate Layer is currently being used in colleges as a training aid for employed apprentices who are just starting roofing through to 3rd year students with great success. The colleges are affiliated with the National Federation of Roofing Contractors across Great Britain.
