New Jersey Apartment Association Announces David H. Brogan as New Executive Director
Mt. Laurel Resident Brings More than 17 Years of Experience to New Role
Suite 203, November 18, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA), the premier trade association representing the Garden State's multi-family housing industry, has announced the appointment of David H. Brogan as its new executive director and executive vice-president of government affairs and business development.
In his new role, Brogan is focused on developing and implementing a strategic plan for the association designed to increase membership and revenue, elevate its government affairs activities on both the state and local levels, enhance member benefits and education, and raise the stature of both the NJAA and the NJAA Political Action Committee (PAC).
NJAA represents owners, managers and developers of nearly 190,000 rental homes in New Jersey as well as hundreds of suppliers to the multi-family housing industry. The association is dedicated to providing safe, clean and affordable rental housing to more than a million residents throughout the state.
"David brings more than 17 years of experience in public and legislative affairs to NJAA, where his first-hand understanding of government will contribute toward advancing the legislative, regulatory and policy priorities of our membership," said William Dailey, president of NJAA. "Under his leadership the association is poised for growth, and will continue to provide an inclusive and cohesive voice for New Jersey's multi-family housing industry."
Prior to joining NJAA, Brogan was first vice-president for the New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA) where he managed legislative and regulatory issues pertaining to tax, economic development, labor, environment and energy policies. Concurrently, he served as executive director of the NEW JOBS Political Action Committee (PAC). Under Brogan's leadership, NEW JOBS became the fastest growing and largest ideological business PAC in the state. Previously, he served as a senior legislative representative for Capital Public Affairs Inc. in Princeton, and was a senior staffer in the New Jersey Senate.
"It's an exciting time to take on such an important leadership role with NJAA," said Brogan. "I have seen firsthand the benefits NJAA delivers to the state's multi-family housing industry, and I look forward to implementing a proactive agenda that meets the needs of our membership and the residents we serve."
Brogan added, "With the industry supporting over 44,000 jobs, contributing over five billion dollars to the State's GDP, and with one in three New Jersey residents renting, the multi-family sector is not only a vital source of housing but is also a major component of the State's economy."
Brogan, who lives in Mt. Laurel, is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science. He also served four years in the U.S. Navy as an anti-submarine warfare operator and a rescue swimmer. Brogan recently was honored by Middlesex County College at its "2014 Alumnus of the Year."
NJAA's diverse membership is involved in the development, construction, ownership and management of market-rate, affordable, military, student and senior housing. Multi-family rental housing supports more than 44,000 jobs throughout New Jersey's 565 municipalities.
