New Literary Magazine Promotes Christian Fiction and the Arts

Athanatos Christian Ministries launches New Magazine Promoting the Christian world view through fiction and cultural transformation

Athanatos Christian Ministries released the first edition of its new literary magazine in early November, 2010. The title of the magazine is "Literary Apologetics.Mag" which reflects ACM's emphasis on using the arts to promote and defend Christianity. The hope is that people will be primed to receive the Gospel more easily when it or its components are presented through story and narrative. Additionally, ACM believes that Christian literature adds to the cultural climate which in turn can help prime an entire society for understanding the claims of Christ, if not actually accepting him yet as Lord and Savior.

Athanatos Christian Ministries, Inc, is a ministry committed to applying the Christian world view in creative contexts that range from Christian apologetics to education to literature and the arts and anything else it can imagine to edify the church.

Each edition of "Literary Apologetics.Mag" is available to read online or it can be downloaded and printed off. Furthermore, Ebook and Kindle editions are available, too. The current edition features several creative pieces, including author Robert Cely's award winning short story, "The Faceless One." Also included are poems and commentaries.

ACM's Executive Director, Anthony Horvath, says, "Our purpose as an organization is to engage in apologetics- that is, the defense of the Christian faith- but we are unique in that we advocate deliberately working through the arts to mount that defense. Our new literary magazine gives us an opportunity to feature authors and artists that effectively infuse their work with their faith."

The literary magazine is just the latest in ACM's efforts to defend the faith through the arts. They also host a Christian writing contest that is currently accepting entries. A high school category caters to aspiring authors in high school and home school with an adult category allowing those 19 and up to compete. A poetry category is in its second year. To date, almost $5,000 has been distributed in awards.

By far the most prominent of ACM's efforts in this area is their annual online apologetics conference. This year, Dr. Gene Veith Jr. is keynoting. Other notables include movie director Dallas Jenkins ("What If?") and movie producer Jason Jones ("Bella").
