New Mental Health News Radio Network Podcast Beat Therapy promotes self-expression and self-care for better mental health
WAYNESVILLE, N.C., May 30, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Licensed Professional Counselor and Allied Mental Health Professional Marquas Fountain are hosting a new Mental Health News Radio Network podcast, Beat Therapy.
A fan of music and the performing arts, Fountain conceived Beat Therapy to encourage listeners to tap into their innate strengths and assets to develop greater resilience in dealing with life stresses. Fountain learned to express himself through music and dance and believes creative expression also helps people better understand themselves, their thoughts and emotions.
Beat Therapy will start as a solo show. Fountain encourages listeners to share personal stories and experiences of creative expression in order to encourage each other. In future Beat Therapy will feature interviews with guests discussing their own mental health stories. The podcast aims to be conversational rather than clinical.
Fountain said, “The vision for the show is that it can become an addition to listener’s coping skills but not take the place of therapy. It is hoped to be interactive and a forum for constant self-reflection. The podcast medium is great as it allows people to incorporate this into their busy lives. I’ve found many clients and patients discussing how it’s difficult to give themselves enough time for self-care. This medium is great as anyone can tune in for as short as 10 minutes to get some helpful feedback and motivation.”
Beat Therapy airs twice a week, and is available via Mental Health News Radio Network.
