New multi-academy Trust, Education for the 21st Century (E21C), launches (in Kent)
Kent , June 12, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Since it was established in 2011, the Trust has continued to develop and grow and now has four member schools, The Ravensbourne School, Scotts Park Primary School, the new and yet-to-be-built, Beckenham Academy and Mottingham Primary School, working under the E21C brand. Its aim is to continue to grow and develop by attracting other new member schools from in and around the area. The Trust has almost reached its 2016 target of five member schools in a matter of a few months and is now due to raise this target before the year is out.
The Trust’s innovative core philosophy is the importance of the ‘whole child’ in education: their skills and development rather than just academic achievement. The schools already involved with the Trust all share the same ethos. Seeking to provide a high quality education focused on developing the gifts and talents of all learners within the Trust, E21C, develops young people with the qualifications, as well as the knowledge and personal skills they need, beyond the classroom, so they become highly employable in the future. As the job market continues to become a challenging place for young people, E21C understands just how important it is to provide all its students with the opportunities they need to succeed.
Notes to Editors About E21C Education for the 21st Century was established in 2011 as a multi-Academy Trust. All the Directors have clear and long lasting commitment to the education of young people and they are prepared to operate effectively to the benefit of the Trust's school, their students, their staff, their parents and the wider local education community within South East London. At the heart of the Trust's philosophy is the importance of the 'whole child' rather than just their academic achievement: results are important but the Trust also focuses on the soft skills which will help each student set up for their life beyond school. We also believe that collaboration, partnership, professional growth though professional debates are best served when the participants are geographically close and taken from a wide variety of situations. For this reason, our aim is to work within the Borough of Bromley at both Primary and Secondary level not only to maintain Bromley's reputation but also to enhance the area even further. CEO of E21C, Paul Murphy says: “We’re really excited to let everyone know about the launch of the re-branded E21C. With education at the heart of everything we do, it’s fantastic that we are able to offer local schools an opportunity to be part the future of education. We have a brand new, user-friendly website showcasing the work we’re doing with our member schools, informing other schools, parents and students about what each school is contributing to our shared ethos, and the opportunities this represents for all.
“Results are extremely important to us, but our aim is to work with each child individually to ensure they are set up for life beyond school. As part of us achieving what we set out from the start, we now have a brand new identity that reflects our philosophy and sets us apart from others. We’re really looking forward to sharing this with prospective member schools and students.”
“E21C is the new academy Trust of the 21st Century, comments Nick Vincent, Chairman at E21C, “Bromley already has a fantastic reputation for schooling and we’re here to build upon this to create an alternative option for staff, parents and students in the area. We’re looking forward to building upon our recent growth success and to really push forward with our vision for local education.”
