New Online Lean Workshop: Value-Stream Mapping for Lean Manufacturing

"Online Value-Stream Mapping for Manufacturing," the new web-based training workshop from the nonprofit Lean Enterprise Institute, lets participants learn at their own pace, alone or with a team.

-- The Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI) today introduced "Online Value-Stream Mapping for Manufacturing" a new web-based workshop based on the proven methodology created for LEI's popular and award-winning Learning to See workbook.

With just a computer, a browser, and high-speed internet access, managers and associates anywhere can now learn how to use the fundamental value-stream mapping tool so they can apply lean techniques where they will have the biggest impact.

"Online Value-Stream Mapping for Manufacturing" teaches the proven methodology introduced by John Shook and Mike Rother in LEI's Learning to See workbook. This groundbreaking workbook, which has been translated into 13 languages, introduced the value-stream mapping tool to thousands of people around the world. The workbook, a Shingo Research Prize recipient in 1999, breaks down the important concept of value-stream mapping into an easily grasped format.

This learning methodology also has been used by thousands of lean thinkers who have attended LEI's classroom-based Value-Stream Mapping for Manufacturing workshop.
