New Pac Forms to Support Bernie Sanders for President

New PAC forms in Texas to win the state for Bernie Sanders

A coalition of grassroots activist comprised of Independents, Green Party members, Democrats and Socialists, have formed a political action committee to support Bernie Sanders’s bid to secure the Democratic Party’s nomination for President.

The idea of the PAC was born on July 29th, at a gathering of ninety-two Bernie supporters at Ann’s Place, a U.S. Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs Medical Foster Home in San Antonio, Texas. Two follow-up meetings resulted in the creation of the Social Democratic Political Action Committee. On September 9th, 2011, the PAC registered with the Federal Election Committee as a non-connected committee.

The PAC will operate in Texas as ‘Texans For Progress.’

“One of the things I learned in the Air Force was how other governments around the world were run and what the people living in those countries thought of their governments,” David Holmes, a retired US Air Force SMSgt and Treasurer of the PAC said. “I’ve lived in Germany and I travelled extensively throughout Europe and I know what universal health care and free college-tuition means to the health of those countries.

Funds raised will be used to open a campaign office in San Antonio to support the candidacy of Senator Bernie Sanders for President.
