New Rockford, IL Band Drama Queen

Online, July 2, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Hard Rock band Drama Queen out of Rockford, IL is currently in the studio writing and recording a full length CD with hopes to have it completed in early spring of 2014. The first song "Drama Queen" debuted via the band's Facebook page and responses have been overwhelming to say the least. Drama Queen, for all intents and purposes, has re-captured the 80's type of sound brilliantly. The band's goal is to capture a time that is very much sought after these days and they were able to deliver with their new song "Drama Queen." Their plan is to write and record very commercial driven songs that will appeal to most people. The band is composed of Curt Lewis (Lead Vocals, Guitars), Matt Vogt (Guitars), Darrell Palmer (Bass), Rob Pace (Drums) and Jill Tartaglia (Keyboard, Backing Vocals).

MUSICIAN BACKGROUND:

Curt Lewis has been singing, writing, and playing guitar in the Rockford, IL area for many years, fronting some great local bands including Transit, Armed Vision, Montage (Stronghold) and Pull Chain. He also occasionally performs his original music solo on 12-string acoustic guitar. Curt is well known for his 80s/90s rock style voice and stage presence. He adds a "signature voice" to Drama Queen.

Matt Vogt has been writing, producing and recording commercially appealing hit Rock Songs for the past 30 years. His melodic guitar hooks and vocal arrangements have been performed before Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell of the X-Factor, on the Milwaukee Harley Davidson's stage, and featured on multiple radio stations and TV. Matt's music has been auditioned by video game executives for the XBOX, WII, PLAYSTATION and PC. Matt has lead bands like JAGER, Caddis Fly, and Relatively Speaking to new levels. Combine the vision of a great writer and producer with big guitar-layered sounds of the 80's and Drama Queen will no doubt Rock Your World!

Rob Pace has played drums with many bands throughout the 80's in both Chicago and LA. Bands like Shotgun Sally, Shark Island, Wicked Ryhme, and short stints with Energy Vampires, Diamond Rexx, No Romeo. In former bands Rob has opened for bands like Great White and Lizzy Borden. He has been part of many live and studio projects throughout the years and has rubbed elbows in the 80's with celebs like Winger, Warrant and Ratt to name a few. Rob brings his 80's style of drumming to the table to give Drama Queen that big 80's drum sound that is needed.

Darrell Palmer has played Bass for many years as well. Playing in Rockford local bands such as Scrapped Metal and running sound for other bands as owner of his own sound company Powerhouse Music. Darrell's 80's rock playing style makes a great addition to Drama Queen's sound!

Jill Tartaglia has played keyboards for many years and her music preference to play is Rock and she has performed with Rockford cover bands like: Lickity Split, Can't Touch This, Hard Encore, The Crave, Radio Stars, and Frontiers. Jill teaches music professionally at all levels from early elementary to college. This project is Jill's first venture into original 80's music and enjoys the challenge and creativity and she fits in quite well.
