New Secure Collaboration Suite Released by Bits Republic

Bits Republic announces a new version of its popular MOnet secure collaboration system - now no install is required to upload and share files with complete privacy 'in the cloud'.

Bits Republic Technologies, Inc. (http://www.bitsrepublic.com), the Vancouver-based developer of leading-edge cloud security applications and licensed technologies, today announced a significant release of its ultra-secure Document Management System, MOnet. The new system eliminates the need for an installed resident application on users' computers for local file encryption, in favour of performing all functions including encoding, upload, download, and file management right through a web browser.
The use of the browser for cloud file management is becoming increasingly popular with offerings by companies such as Google and Amazon leading the way with advanced APIs that leverage the browser more effectively and efficiently than in the past. Browser technologies have the added advantage of enabling cloud technologies to reach across platforms and into alternative devices such as tablets, mobile devices, and hybrid devices, without the necessity for separate applications for each hardware platform and operating system.

"We realized that while an installed application is handy, especially for synchronization, it is limiting in terms of portability and ubiquity" explained Charles Chung, owner and founder of Bits Republic Technologies, Inc. "With our new browser-based version of MOnet, customers can access, manage, and share their files from anywhere, easily. They can set sharing permissions for specific files with other users or groups of users, track past file versions, and even invite others without ever having to install anything on their systems. This really extends MOnet beyond the enterprise and into a very useful application for remote teams and professional services, especially those with security and privacy concerns, or legislative compliance requirements. While other services (like SharePoint and Google Docs for example) have been doing this for a while, we are unique in that even we cannot see our users' data - our systems manage it and help users control and share it, but secured files never escape user control. Not even we at Bits Republic have access to our customers' shared files".

Monet uses the patent-pending Bits republic security engine which provides a very flexible platform for client-side encryption and server side 'blind' hosting and management. This technology assures that only authorized users are able to access secured data and metadata, and that not even the application or storage hosts have access to it themselves.
