New Series Of Chapter Books Begins Now Available As An Amazon Ebook
Calling all young readers and artists to share in the experiences of the Gemstone Elves. Meet Beryl the Elf, who is different from other Elves, and discover what happens when he ventures into the human world and befriends a young girl.
Online, March 16, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Asheville, NC, -- Patricia Elizabeth Bennett, grandmother of three, announces that the first book of her series will be available on Amazon as an ebook starting March 13th. There will be three volumes in the series, each with four books apiece. When asked why she wrote Tales of the Gemstone Elves, Patricia replied, "...for the same reason that I became a teacher...I wanted to show children that learning can be fun."
It has not always been easy for Patricia -- there was self-doubt about ever completing the project. "I thought about it for a long time, but I didn't feel I could really do it...writing books was something other people do, not me," Patricia admitted. "I had to teach myself in the same way one teaches a child, by improving creativity through drawing, journaling, and meditation. It was a lesson for me as well."
"I drew upon my childhood experiences and interests such as organic gardening, rock hounding, and nature spirits to create the theme of the stories," continued Patricia, "Together with the help of several individuals, notably my writing teacher, McKenna Donovan, and the publisher, SpectrumPublishing.Org, I am now able and very excited to share my stories with children. My life has become more fun because of the Gemstone Elves, and I believe others will think so, too! It's a young girl's dream come true in a long, round-about way."
Tales of the Gemstone Elves is a series of chapter books which are aimed at ages 6 to 10 years old. Patricia hopes that parents will help young readers read Beryl's Journey - Book 1 aloud to their younger siblings for quality time filled with learning and sharing. In addition, she is encouraging young artists to be inspired to make their own drawings which she will then in turn share on the Elven website.
Patricia Elizabeth Bennett lives in Asheville, North Carolina with her dog, Beatrix, and continues to write about, draw, and paint her magical Elves so that children may learn about the world we all share.
