New Sigma Media Group Chats With Socially Conscious Hip Hop Playwright, NYC Teaching Artist, And Urban Gardner Gustav Gauntlett.

Online, January 2, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Gustav Gauntlett, socially conscious Hip Hop playwright, New York City teaching artist, and urban gardener is definitely someone we should know. We had the chance to chat with the hip hop playwright about his most recent project Mama Nature: A Hip Hop Musical.

Mama Nature: A Hip Hop Musical is Gus Gauntlett's third theatrical feature written completely in rhyme. His first production, Big Apple Turns to Cider, was performed all around New York City and at West Point Military Academy. Much Ado About Hip Hop, a modern interpretation of Shakespeare's classic, was donated to South Bronx Preparatory High School.

Mama Nature: A Hip Hop Musical premiered at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in New York City. The play has a special New Year's Eve showing at the Parish House of the Church of the Redeemer located at 36 South Street, Morristown, NJ. The doors open at 9:15 PM and the show starts at 9:45 PM. Gustav Gauntlett talks about his biggest influence in hip hop. "I would say my biggest influence in hip hop is KSR1. You know KSR1 was able to you know was one of the original mc of hip hop and also stay relevant for past 20 years. He wrote a book called the Gospel of hip hop which changed by life and really the basses of the book is putting hip hop not putting it as actions or culture but more like a spiritual belief and teaching me if I can truly dedicate my life 100 percent to hip hop that there is nothing that I can't do. And once you really believe that you know you find your path and he really help me find my path. This is a very beautiful thing."
