New Solution for Family Caregivers Seeks Crowdfunding
Online, September 6, 2013 (Newswire.com) - ConnectedVisits system allows family caregivers to be part of their loved ones' doctor visits through real-time video interactions. ConnectedVisits is seeking to raise funds by launching a Crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo site to finish developing their new remote doctor visits system for family caregivers on September 9th.
Early supporters get a $50 discount on the product and can also get a chance to preview and try out the product in-development for family caregivers. The first 1,000 supporters can secure the ConnectedVisits service, expected to ship in the first quarter of 2014, for $229 per year, as compared to the anticipated retail price of $500 per year after this crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo.
ConnectedVisits allows families to improve communication by providing a cloud-based location for families to share notes, list and manage medications, pose questions for doctor as well as a place to record vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and other findings such as blood glucose and body weight.
Getting families involved in providing care is really important as it helps provide better care for the patient, reduces return trips to the hospital, and encourages patients to follow up on the care instructions given. It is simple to use and intuitive. Combined with monitoring vital signs, it offers support for medication management, nutrition counseling, exercise and diet regimens, and behavioral health counseling. ConnectedVisits "emulates doctor's visit or replaces the need for a family member to be physically present at a loved one's doctor's visit", says company founder Dr. Krishna Gazula.
