New Tuning Box Saves 5-6000 Litres Of Fuel A Year

A diesel tuning box which increases torque and improves fuel economy in cars and vans could save farmers more than £4000 a year, according to the product's distributors.

The Speedhawk product has been available for small vehicles for four years, but has only been available in the agricultural market since April. Distributors BHP Plus claim it can save 5-6000 litres of fuel every year - or at least £4000!

This is a much larger saving than on smaller engines, where the main benefit of Speedhawk is the greater power on offer.

BHP Plus MD Pete Stubbings said: "This is the only product of its kind in the UK, and has been very well received by the agricultural market here since its launch.

"However it has been available in Germany and used in agriculture there for more than 15 years, so it has a proven track record.

"Alongside the fuel savings, it compares very favourably to alternatives like ECU remapping and multi-channel systems, as it's safer, easier to use and more cost-effective."

ECU remapping and multi-channel options require changing the parameters of the onboard computer, which can cause problems through over-riding the factory settings.

The multi-channel products plug into a number of sections in the engine, compared to one point on the Speedhawk.

Pete Stubbings said: "The Speedhawk is easy to install, is remote controlled, and can be transferred to other vehicles - if they have the same type of diesel engine."
