Michael Magro Foundation Donates New VeinViewers To Five Pediatric Facilities On Long Island

MICHAEL MAGRO FOUNDATION DONATES
NEW VEINVIEWERS TO FIVE PEDIATRIC FACILITIES
ON LONG ISLAND

Finding a vein for a blood draw or IV in critically ill pediatric patients is sometimes a very difficult situation for nurses, doctors, and especially the patients. Thanks to a very generous donation by the Michael Magro Foundation (www.MichaelMagroFoundation.com) five pediatric facilities now have new CHRISTIE÷VeinViewers:

· Cancer Center for Kids, Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, NY
· Neonatal ICU, Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, NY
· Pediatric Emergency Room, Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, NY
· Pediatric Floor, Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, NY
· Outpatient Pediatric Oncology Program, Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook, NY

Each VeinViewer comes with multiple imaging modes, operates via batteries or AC power, has fast-swap batteries, includes an optional hands-free stability mount, and has been drop tested for quality and durability. For a patient who is used to being stuck multiple times, it should only take one try with the VeinViewer.

"We've lived the life of having not one, but two children, in cancer treatment at the same time," says Terrie Magro, co-founder, with her husband Paul, of the Michael Magro Foundation. "Our goal is to ease the pain for other families as often as we can," she continued, when asked about the foundation's mission.

The Michael Magro Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization was established in 2005. The foundation strives to better the lives of children with cancer, pediatric cancer survivors and their families, as well as children and their families dealing with other chronic pediatric illnesses, by helping these families meet the complex issues of care. Terrie and Paul Magro created the foundation in memory of their son Michael who passed away in 2004 at the age thirteen.
