San Jose,Ca.(October 16th,2010) Allan Angel is an immigrant from the Philippines, now living the American dream as a comic book artist in San Jose,California. He has created his own comic book publishing house out of his home which he calls "Integrity Comics" a place where he gives young people the chance to be published albeit on a small scale, people like Chris Perguidi(creator of H-Town), Adrian Age Scott(an African American school teacher) and Erika Svensson a local student. He says he was inspired by an incident at age 13 after undergoing a serious surgery that left Allan Angel bed ridden. His father brought him a stack of comic books. He was overjoyed at the assortment of four color heroes, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Super Man plus their collaborative e war on crime the Justice League. At first overjoyed he become saddened, he wondered "Why didn't any of the super heroes look like me? why didn't they look like any one in my neighborhood?".In the 1970s Dc Comics (a subsidiary of Time Warner) barely had any ethnic heroes, if any, none that he knew of at the time.Yet the neighborhood he lived in was filled with people of all colors, black, white, Latino and like himself a poor Asian immigrant. Sure, Wonder Woman, Superman and Aqua Man were all immigrants but, none of them Asian or poor, Most of the heroes were rich white men like the Green Arrow or Batman. He wondered,"How could a world as big as the Dc universe only seem to have white heroes?"He thought to himself surely there must be some Asian heroes out there?"

But he searched through his comics and found none to his liking and decided to create his own. This led to a life long love of creating comic books. After years of trying to break into comic's major publishers, Dc and Marvel, he met with little success. Now, an adult working at the post office, he felt his dreams were shattered. Until, one day, his child hood friend, Adrian Age Scott, came into the post office. Adrian, a school teacher, suggested that he go into self publishing. A radically, new, idea in comics, at the time. Many were doing it in 1989, Most, were inspired by the success of teenage mutant ninja turtles. His first foray into self publishing was Snake Eyes. It started as a mini comic book in 1993 and eventually led to his first sold out comic book. Snake Eyes, started in or around 1993/1994 as a mini comic with a leather clad assassin, who spoke in monotone and sometimes didn't speak at all. Some say, it jump started the bad girl craze of the 1990s, a time proliferated with, tough as nails, female heroes ,like Lady Death, Barbwire and Vampirella Allan is now giving young people the chance he never had by publishing their work and often doing the art for those who can't . "I wanted to give the people who may feel oppressed, bullied or left out, a chance at expressing themselves. A chance the big companies wouldn't give me." Allan Angel said, "Bullies shouldn't win!" People like Chris Perguidi and Erika svensson, two students from Gilroy that Allan met at the small press expo in 2008.

Christopher Perguidi is a writer/artist and a short lived child star from. He garnered much attention for his mini comic Erika Amerika : in the world of tomorrow .

His current project with Allan Angel is sure to take him to the top. With characters like Dr. Dino, The Dart and Erika Amerika, he will take the throne once again as the brightest young star out there.

Erika Svensson is America's quickest rising young talent. An American actress, author and model of Brazilian and Swedish descent, some of her better-known TV appearances include : The Lizard Zone, The Chris and Erika Show, and The Chris and James Adventures as well as being the model and co-creator of Erika Amerika.

"I met them at a convention. They used to do a local TV show together, about nerd culture, comic books, video games, B movies, that sort of stuff. It aired on public access. "Allan recollects, "They decided to put out a comic. It was good, but not great. It was a comic based on Erika. It was designed to expand her acting career. They had some great ideas, so i offered to publish it and do the art for them. We worked together to make it something bigger, something mythical." That comic book is H-Town, a period piece, set in World War II:

"People wonder why i decided to work with them. People look at them and think that they're not the type of people to be bullied. They're both former athletes. Erika played water polo and Chris is a mixed Martial Artist and both are actors but, when they stepped into the art world, that all changed, people expect artists to look certain ways" Allan says, "I'd see them at conventions and I'd see that there fellow artist would come and disrespect them, just because they didn't wear all black or funny looking hats. I could relate to that, it reminded me of how i was treated in high school. People forget actors are talented too. Well, at least the good ones." Years later,Allan Angel would run into his child hood friend Adrian Age Scott,(still a school teacher), and learn that he had taken his own advice and gone into comics and had been doing it for awhile. This led them to rekindle their idea of doing a multi-ethnic super hero comic set in the slums. That book would be called Super-hood and is now also available from integritycomics.com The whole Integrity gang will be appearing at the Long Beach Comic Convention Center October 30th and 31rst.This will be the official release of the full color H-Town comic book available for autographs.

Allan Angel still works at the post office and hopes one day his company will be as big as Marvel and if not, at least he can dream, because sometimes all we can do is dream.
