Online, March 25, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Workshop55.com, a new site that offers small-business owners a comprehensive package of web design and development services, launched on Friday, March 21. The service provides the advantage of custom-built websites that are uniquely designed, contrary to template designs which are often sold to multiple businesses. Its partner and co-founder Vasily Kamyshanov created the site after conducting a market-wide study that revealed several issues concerning freelance marketplaces.
Among Workshop55's services are web design, development, analytics, search-engine optimization, online promotion packages to increase traffic, and customer support. Users can get estimated prices for these packages, starting at $1500, before committing to any payments.
The system operators navigate the affordable freelance population for their customers, pre-selecting experts in the field based on a strict screening process for skills and experience. This approach may prove useful to small-business owners who place a high value on their budgets and timelines.
"Our progress with this service has been somewhat funny as well as interesting," said co-founder Kamyshanov. "We originally started as another freelance platform, but as we collected more data about customers across the world, we learned that the majority are fed up with the state of freelancing altogether. So we scrapped our initial idea and pioneered a more practical solution, one that's never been tried before."
Workshop55 sampled a group of 200 freelancers and clients within the web-development field. The data revealed that over 57% of clients trust recommendations from their friends, while less than 10% trust marketplaces such as Freelancer.com and Elance.
Moreover, the study indicated that clients and freelancers share a mutual fear of project failure: 65% of clients fear that they will spend considerable money and get poor results, while 68% of freelancers fear that their work will be unpaid for.
"A lot of clients are starting projects on marketplaces that ultimately fail," said Kamyshanov," and so they feel they can only trust references from friends. Then clients and freelancers are butting heads because one or the other fails to deliver what's promised. When you combine these two facts, you have a serious problem for project success."
In response to this research, Workshop55 has established itself as a middle ground between a digital-marketing agency and a freelance marketplace. It selects freelancers for its clients while allowing the latter to stay in control of their projects via simple management tools.
"Essentially, we offer all the quality services of an agency, except at freelance rates," said Kamyshanov. "It's exciting how such a simple approach can be the perfect solution. And believe it or not, we're the first to do this."
Workshop55's slogan is "Finally, results matter." Founded in 2013, it champions the success of small businesses by providing a full spectrum of website solutions, focusing less on expanding a freelance population and more on project success. It is a specialized, result-oriented service—where the resources are affordable and in abundance. To find out more, please visit www.workshop55.com.
