New Web Series, 1885, Has Begun Early Preproduction Work

Series is a Western and Martial Arts drama and will shoot on locations Around Los Angeles.

Development and early preproduction work has officially begun in earnest on the Sean Lagonegro web series, 1885. The exciting web series is an homage to and inspired by the once immensely popular television series Kung Fu. However, the series is far from a remake of the old show. It chronicles the adventurous journey through the American West of 1885, of another man, who was also trained in the Eastern martial arts, in this case, Wing Chun Kung Fu. In search of another who came before him, David encounters an ever changing cast of characters along the way.

While there are obvious similarities between the TV show and the web series, Kung Fu buffs may even recognize some of the locations this series uses, the stories are not the same, says series creator and star, Sean Lagonegro. "Let's just say, our hero is not so subtle in the way he handles opposition," Lagonegro teased about one of the key differences.

The series is scheduled to begin shooting the first two episodes in mid-October on locations in Southern California. Dancing With The Stars featured dancer, Dmitry Chaplin, is already set to star in the first episodes. The next few months will focus on continued casting, preproduction work and financing.
