Herb Subin's clients, Brenda Whaley and Amanda Wade were involved in an accident in Brooklyn in 2005. A New York City MTA bus failed to stop at a red light and smashed into their car.
Herb's experience as a New York personal injury lawyer served his clients well leading to an eventual victory in court after the MTA had refused a settlement offer. In court the bus driver was found to be at fault by the jury.
The settlement offer of $3 million is now dwarfed by the $7.5million verdict.
"This was a good victory, but had the Transit Authority acted reasonably, they would have saved millions of dollars," said Herb Subin, attorney for the two women. "As a citizen, I'm outraged."
"My client suffered horribly," Subin said. "Her insurance ran out and she hasn't been able to get the care she needs."
NYC Transit plans an appeal.
