New Zealand-based Blue Sky Meats Maintains its Commitment to Staying Natural

In a rapidly changing meat processing industry, New Zealand-based Blue Sky Meats maintains its commitment to staying natural, adding value and optimizing revenue.

(SAN DIEGO, CA) - In an interview with Business Review Australia, Blue Sky Meats General Manager Ricky Larsen reveals how the sheep meat processing company maintains local, green values in a rapidly changing industry.
"For us, we want to promote the fact that our animals are out in a natural environment, in natural weather conditions and grazing on green pastures. That's a key part of our marketing push," said Larsen in the article.

Though the New Zealand-based Blue Sky Meats relies heavily on its reputation as being clean, green, natural and fresh, 60 percent of its revenue is generated from Europe and its current key marketing focus is centered on a number of developing economic countries, particularly China.
Larsen said, "For a little country at the bottom of the South Pacific, a long physical distance from its markets in Australasia, we represent the majority of sheep meat that crosses borders and enters as imports to consuming countries."
Blue Sky prides itself on having minimal impact on the environment and promoting extensive, rather than intensive, farming. In addition to its fertile property, fresh well water and private irrigation system, Blue Sky has its own qualified veterinarians onsite during processing who certify that the animals are healthy.
