NFL Hall-of-Famer Jim Brown and TMG Entertainment Hosted Celebrity Golf Tournament in Houston, TX

Celebrities, Athletes, and Players Raise Over $50,000 to Benefit the Amer-I-Can Foundation

Houston, Texas - NFL legend, Jim Brown, hosted the first annual TMG Jim Brown Celebrity Golf Tournament at La Torretta Resort and Spa in Montgomery, TX. The three day extravaganza brought out celebrities and athletes including NBA legend, Bill Russell and actor and television host, Alan Thicke to benefit The Amer-I-Can Foundation.

The event began on Friday evening with a dinner reception announcing the foursome team pairings with each celebrity. Corporate teams signed up for the tournament include Sprint, ESPN Radio, ARod Mercedes, and Silver Eagle Distribution (partial listing). Celebrity athletes included Mark Clayton (Miami Dolphins), Raymond Clayborn (New England Patriots), Calvin Murphy (Houston Rockets, Hall of Fame), Major Jones, and Rickey Jackson, New Orleans Saints' Hall of Famer (partial listing).

Teams hit the links on the challenging 18-hole golf course. Eighteen celebrities and their teams competed in a scramble type tournament and let the friendly competition begin. "My wife, Monique and I are glad to be in Montgomery, TX for the 1st annual TMG Jim Brown Celebrity Golf Tournament. We appreciate all of the celebrities and attendees' support in benefiting the Amer-I-Can Foundation," said Jim Brown.

The day was rounded out by the highly esteemed gala, complete with first-class dining, a silent and live auction and entertainment by Eric Kaposta, country music artists Nash 3, and three time Grammy nominee, Ski Johnson. The three day event raised over $50,000 for the Amer-I-CanFoundation. "I had an amazing time. Everything was well done. I am glad to be here to support Jim Brown and Amer-I- Can," said NBA Hall of Famer, Bill Russell. Mr. Brown also received an award from Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee for his continued work in the community. "I have infinite respect for Jim's activism for young people,"said actor, Alan Thicke.

The tournament concluded with an award ceremony on Sunday. "TMG Entertainment and I are extremely honored to be a part of this amazing event with two of the most incredible legends in their sport, Jim Brown and Bill Russell. Everyone had a great time while supporting a worthy cause. The celebrities, athletes and the players who attended this three day event helped raise money to support my friend Jim's charity, the Amer-I-Can foundation, " said Paolo Sadri, TMG Entertainment President and event organizer.
