Night at the Museum in Real Life!

Almost every day, at a suite of offices owned by auction house RR Auction, in Amherst, NH, packages arrive containing fascinating fragments of history.

In the 2006 hit movie Night at the Museum, a film that grossed more the $500 million worldwide and was one of Ben Stiller's most memorable roles, Stiller's character shows us that the better you know the past, the better prepared you are for the future.

Almost every day, at a suite of offices owned by auction house RR Auction, in Amherst, NH, packages arrive containing fascinating fragments of history. The packages are sent by collectors who want to sell to others like themselves via RR's monthly auctions.

Small but highly respected, RR Auction was established in 1976 in the founder's mother's basement. Today many collectors, big names and novices alike, are opting to work with the company rather than several larger competitors. It has secured a place with collectors and dealers worldwide as the most respected auction source for guaranteed authentic autographs. The auction house has found its largest concentration of bidders on both coasts, New York and LA, and in Florida.

"The other companies treat you like a number," says major collector Barry Hoffman, who has worked with RR Auction several times and has a number of extraordinary items up for auction this month. "I now bring my collection exclusively to RR Auction because I deeply appreciate and value their knowledge, integrity and kindness."

The auction staff anticipates each new delivery. "When we receive a package, we never know what to expect," confides Bobby Livingston, RR Auction's VP of Sales and Marketing. "Sometimes, we discover a missing piece of a puzzle: one that offers intimate insights into the life and times of a historic figure or an entertainment or sports icon. When you collect something personally touched by one of your heroes, or an item that contains their autograph or signature, you're not just taking possession of a material thing. It's the story attached to that particular object that makes it such an object of fascination! For many of our customers, the interesting story associated with an item is just as important as the item itself. Finding one of these items ensures an ever-closer bond to the past."

This month's auction, which ends August 11, features Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton, John Hancock, along with an array of pop culture icons including Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Marilyn Monroe. Many more items in the auction are described at www.rrauction.com.
