Online, March 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Keeping to its tradition of introducing high quality models of cameras, Nikon is introducing the all new D4 digital SLR camera. D40 is very close to its older brother D50 on specifications but has a few changes which make it comparatively cheaper than the D50. Despite the low price, it retains the precision quality of Nikon digital SLR cameras and also includes a few improvements, incorporated in its design.
The new model is available in the traditional black and the silver color which is preferred by some users. Being one of the smallest cameras in its range, the D40 gets an attractive look with its rounded edges. The grip is very sturdy and comfortable as is the case with most Nikon digital SLR cameras. Its 2.5 inch LCD display makes it more comfortable for the man behind it to compose the photograph. All the information required is displayed in a set of easy to navigate set of menus. The view finder comes with the traditional rubber eyepiece for comfortable focusing. The battery compartment and the provision for connections come with covers as usual with digital cameras. D40 is equipped with the normal pop up flash and it also has an accessory shoe for an auxiliary flash.
Controls of the new Nikon D40 are conveniently located following the normal Nikon tradition with a few changes. The shutter button is located at extreme right to make it easy to release while having a good grip to prevent camera shake. To the inner side with easy reach is the command dial with which you change the settings of the camera. The display in turn gives all the information about the settings. On the rear side of the camera you have its 2.5 inch display and on the right, the buttons for the normal four way control and the OK button. Just below is the erase button. These controls of course follow the pattern of traditional digital camera controls. On the left of the display are four more buttons.
This new Nikon comes with the traditional Nikon lens which is 1.4 or 1.8 in speed. The autofocus function of the camera doesn't work with these lenses. If you need the autofocus function, you need to buy a lens with the autofocus facility.
The all new Nikon D40 is supplied with a rechargeable battery with the battery charger. The battery need to be removed before charging as the case with many digital SLR cameras.
Among the improvements the Nikon D40 has a comparatively short black out time for a digital SLR camera. Its shutter lag too is remarkably short.
With all these new features the new Nikon is able to enhance the image Nikon has created in the digital camera market with its innovative cameras. As a solution to their comparatively higher price D40 is playing its part extremely well with a high performance camera with a low price tag. Make your digital photography easy with Nikon D40.
