Nominations Open for Inaugural Blair Award for Marketing Accountability
Recognizing those who demonstrate the contribution of Marketing to enterprise value
NEW YORK, February 12, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Marketing drives financial value for enterprises and marketing accountability empowers marketing executives in the boardroom by demonstrating that value.
The marketing accountability movement is gaining momentum, driven by the efforts of MASB, the Marketing Accountability Standards Board, and accountable marketers around the world who understand that linking marketing actions to financial performance leads to growth.
MASB is celebrating role models for this movement with a new honor. The Blair Award for Marketing Accountability is to be presented annually to a marketing executive or academic that has implemented the principles of accountable marketing to:
- drive business growth through continuous improvement in Marketing ROI
- prove the contribution of Marketing to enterprise value
MASB membership is NOT required to nominate or be nominated. An independent panel representing a cross-section of the marketing sphere will serve as judges. The purpose of the award is to promote marketing accountability by recognizing and promoting the best practices of the winners.
Throughout her long and stellar career, MASB co-founder Meg Henderson Blair was a pioneer of both marketing measurement and marketing accountability. Founding president of the ARS Group, she was a prolific author of marketing research articles and was awarded two U.S. patents for innovations in both marketing measurement and management, fields where patents are rare. She served as MASB President and CEO and later as Chair of the Marketing Accountability Foundation.
MASB brings marketers, academics and measurement providers together to establish measurement and accountability standards and equip marketers with knowledge and resources. MASB project teams focus on significant issues within the marketing realm as identified by marketers.
This past year, MASB partnered with the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) for the Sponsorship Accountability Metrics Project and recently formed the Digital Accountability Research Project. The progress on these teams is further adding to the momentum of the marketing accountability movement.
The Blair Award will be presented during MASB Summer Summit 2019, August 8-9 in Chicago. Nominations may be submitted at themasb.org/blair-award. Deadline is March 30, 2019. For more information, contact [email protected].
