Non Destructive Testing for Safer Air Travel to Be Explored at Upcoming Forum

International and regional aerospace professionals gather in Dubai to discuss emerging techniques and technologies used to ensure the safety of the Middle East's aircraft fleets.

As the Middle East is rising as an international aviation hub, regional carriers are gearing up to meet the demand of travelers by increasing their fleet size. To continue the aviation industry's track record for safety, aviation professionals will join the international expert speaker faculty at the highly anticipated Aerospace NDT Forum taking place in Dubai on 17-18 September 2013 at The Address Dubai Marina.

"With Airbus, Rolls Royce, Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines joining the debate there will be an interesting balance of local and international expertise discussing non destructive testing as the key to safer air travel", mentions Barth de Ridder, Director - Conferences & Training at DMG Events.

One of the keys to safer travel is the use of non destructive testing (NDT) as it is one of the most essential assets in maintaining aerospace structures. NDT methods allow inspectors to inspect areas of a plane that would otherwise be uninspectable without disassembling the structure to gain access to the internal areas. It also ensures the detection of faults or flaws that are not noticeable to the naked eye.

Focus will be on improving safety, reducing inspection time and frequency and ensuring safer air travel. The Aerospace NDT Forum is co-sponsored by BINDT - the British Institute of Non Destructive Testing and will provide a platform to learn about the latest techniques and technologies that play a pivotal role in keeping air travel one of the safest modes of transportation.

The two-day forum taking place on 17-18 September is supported by Olympus and CGM as keynote sponsors, TWI as knowledge partner and Hillsborough, Thermo Scientific and NDT Systems as exhibitors.
