Non-Profit Approaches $30 Million Goal for Cancer Research

There will be an event Saturday, Nov. 10, at Newport Beach, hosted by the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, where attendees can enjoy a high-class dinner and fun entertainment while supporting the cause to save children through cancer research.

The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation will present its Bid for the Kids Gala on Saturday, Nov. 10, 5:30 p.m., at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort in Newport Beach, 1221 W. Coast Highway, to raise funds for research that help increase the chances of survival for children with malignant diseases. The event will provide an avenue for donors to contribute through its silent and live auction and features entertainment by the Tijuana Dogs.

This is the 29th year the PCRF has hosted the Bid for the Kids Gala. The theme, Pearl Jubilee, will revolve around the organization's celebration of funding for 30 years. Raising over $28 million for pediatric research thus far, the amount continues to increase in order to reach their $30 million goal by the day of the event, fitting the theme.

The Gala includes entertainment, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and dinner provided by the resort, and a silent and live auction. Tickets are $125 each and donations in excess of the cost is tax deductible. PCRF has used its funds to grant and support many researchers in various locations, including Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA and Children's Hospital of Orange County.

For more information or tickets call (949)859-6312. The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation is located at 9272 Jeronimo Road, Suite 122, in Irvine.
