Nonprofit Organization Accepting Submissions For Logo Design To Be Used In National Campaign
Online, April 15, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The National Association For Continence (NAFC) is launching a new national Bladder Health Awareness campaign and needs a new, fresh logo for it. The logo will be used on a new website and in print. Individuals are eligible to submit logo entries to the Bladder Health Logo Contest. Companies, schools and organizations are not allowed to enter this contest.
NAFC would like to incorporate the image of a hummingbird in the creation of this new logo. A symbol of joy and good health, the hummingbird is the only bird that can fly backwards. This is a reminder that the past cannot be changed but that lessons can be learned from it. The new logo will be used to represent the joy that can be found in any circumstance.
More than 25 million Americans are affected by loss of bladder control. Many believe that only older people experience incontinence. Most people are not aware that bladder control loss affects 30-50% of women by age 40 who have given birth. Studies have shown that 90% of men who have had a prostatectomy, surgery for the removal of prostate cancer, reported leakage within the first few weeks following surgery. Stroke survivors, individuals with spinal cord injuries, and those living with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's or spina bifida often have trouble with bladder control. There are many management and treatment options available. NAFC's Bladder Health Awareness campaign will help improve the lives of those living with these problems and inform others of ways to maintain a healthy bladder free of infection, urgency and frequency of urination.
The deadline for logo submissions is 5 p.m. (EDT) on Monday, May 16, 2011. Submission guidelines and information on how to enter the Bladder Health Logo Contest can be found on NAFC's Facebook page titled Bladder Health.
