Nopajuk Meesom Wins The CAT Telecom "Think Green" Championship 2010 At 10 Under Par

Nopajuk Meesom played consistently great golf and with a combined score of ten under par, Nopajuk was out of reach for his fellow golfers. He was followed by Jamnian Chitprasong (-6) in second place and Amphon Maneerat (-3) in third.

The CAT Telecom "Think Green" Championship 2010 held at the beautiful Royal Gems Golf and Sports Club in Nakornpathom, Bangkok was one of the many golf tournaments organized by the Thai Seniors Professional Golfers Association. This time, under the sponsorship of CAT Telecom, the spectators saw a smooth running event with many golfing highlights.
Despite the fact that the event was organized in the middle of the rainy season in Thailand, the weather could have not been better for the field over 240 players competing for the cup and prize money of 1.300.000 Thai Baht of the CAT Telecom "Think Green" Championship 2010.

The first two groups teeing off at holes number 1 and 10 on Monday the 9th or August at 06:30 started the event during which the senior golf professionals demonstrated one more time their capabilities. At the end of day-one Nuttapol Jirapornpanich was leading after shooting five under par for the day, leading Nopajuk Meesom with only one stroke.

The second day was somewhat different for Nuttapol; the weather had developed a fair bit and meant a challenge to many players so we saw a change at the leaderboard in favor of Nopajuk Meesom, who managed to negotiate the course best and after birdies on holes number 8, 9 and 10 and one bogey at the 18th he was leading at a combined score of six under.

After cutting at 9-over and better the field comprised of 67 players for the final day.

Nopajuk managed to stay in the lead and his four under for the day, or ten under for the tournament safely brought him victory. Runner up were Jamnian Chitprasong (-6) in second place and Amphon Maneerat (-3) in third.

On the last day the Thailand Senior Professional Golfers Association always conducts a special event in the afternoon for its players aged 60 and above, the Super Senior Event. The Super Senior field comprised of over 80 players who competed in a single round of golf at the Royal Gems Golf and Sports Club for a purse holding 300.000 Thai Baht. This event is truly appreciated by the members and the spectators saw some more good golf in the afternoon. The winner, Nithinun Hensirisakul came in at 71, one under par. He was followed by Payom Khuntagul and Nobuyuki Baba from Japan who tied for second place at 75 three over par.
