Norc.ro updates the street-view in Bucharest to the 2010 version
Online, March 25, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Bucharest. The first online street navigation service in the Eastern Europe, Norc.ro (www.norc.ro) announced today that it has updated some of the most important Romanian street panoramas, in Bucharest and for the centre of Timisoara, with the 2010 version of the images captured using its own technology.
Norc.ro is a urban orientation service with streetview visualisations, that allow users to navigate through them in any browser, even full-screen. In addition, any panorama can be stored in the user's account or may be sent to friends via a 'panolink' (a link to a Norc panorama).
The 2010 edition, containing over 230,000 panoramic images from Bucharest and Timisoara replaces the 2008 edition, bringing a better picture quality and a greater degree of detail to the streetview experience. For this, Norc.ro has been heavily investing in its own system of collecting and processing panoramic images.
"Starting today you can see on Norc.ro even what was built in Bucharest by the end of last year, you can easily recognize the restaurant where you were last night, and a new office building where you have a meeting tomorrow," said Lucian Neagu, the manager of Norc.ro
Street panoramas, also called „street-view"are available on Norc.ro for Bucharest and 50 other big cities, using a digital map on which users can search by street names. Moreover, through Norc Recommendations Norc.ro offer users can add any point of interest to both maps and panoramas. And also any company, wherever it may be located throughout the country, can show its own offices on the map, and thus be marked on the digital map of Romania, and in the panoramas of that area, if available.
At this point, the panoramas that are available for Bucharest contain over 4,200 such points of interest marked both on digital map as well as in panoramas of the area in which they are located. These include: public transport, restaurants, bars and clubs, car services, shops, offices and subsidiaries of banks, schools, kindergartens, and much more. Nationwide, the number of points of interest available on Norc.ro has exceeded 10,000.
