Nortec is proud to announce it will be hosting a webinar with Engineered Systems Magazine on Thursday, February 23. This webinar will help educate healthcare facility managers and building professionals on the importance of humidification and key benefits for people, process and technology.

“Indoor air quality and adequate humidification play a highly important role in occupant health,” said Duncan Curd, GM of Nortec. “Low indoor air quality in healthcare facilities leads to many problems, such as a higher instance of hospital-acquired infections and poor workplace health.”

By ensuring a consistent humidification level of 40% RH throughout healthcare buildings at all times, facilities can expect to experience a wide variety of benefits including reduced HAIs, improved patient outcomes, reduced absenteeism and better productivity.

Duncan Curd, GM of Nortec

Engineered Systems Magazine is an industry-leading publication presenting the latest in facility, consulting and mechanical engineering, concentrated on energy-efficient solutions for high-performance buildings. New technologies can support energy and sustainability initiatives, including improving compliance with the latest ASHRAE 170 standards. By offering this webinar, Nortec hopes to improve education around healthy indoor climates to better support occupant health and control energy use.

This webinar will highlight the importance of adequate communication between engineers and physicians in the development of healthcare facilities, how to identify proper humidification levels and maintain effective indoor air quality in your facility.

“The effects of ‘Dry Building Syndrome’ put an immense strain on an already-overextended healthcare and medical system,” said Duncan Curd. “By ensuring a consistent humidification level of 40% RH throughout healthcare buildings at all times, facilities can expect to experience a wide variety of benefits including reduced HAIs, improved patient outcomes, reduced absenteeism and better productivity.”

This webinar will discuss best practices and benefits of ensuring proper humidification for healthcare facilities, as well as confronting obstacles that could hinder occupant and workplace health and building efficiency.

The webinar will take place Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 2PM EST, featuring two speakers at the top of their fields: Dr. Stephanie Taylor MD, M Arch, CIC, RSPH (UK), MCABE and Steve Cutter, the Director of Engineering Services at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
