North Hills Area Computer Recycling & Data Destruction Event

All Pennsylvania residents can securely dispose of computers and electronics, with off-site hard drive destruction available

Commonwealth Computer Recycling (CCR) will hold a computer recycling and hard drive destruction event on September 27th, 2014 at Shaler North Hills Library.

The event will allow residents and local business owners the opportunity to securely dispose of their unused, outdated or unwanted electronics in a secure and environmentally responsible manner. CCR ensures that the process is quick and efficient, unlike many of the larger county events, where residents may wait for hours in-line before they can drop off their items.

With the passage of the Covered Recycling Device Act, everyone must recycle their computers, servers, and peripherals through a certified recycler

“With the passage of the Covered Recycling Device Act, everyone must recycle their computers, servers, and peripherals through a certified recycler,” said Serdar Bankaci, founder of Commonwealth Computer Recycling. “We are very proud to offer secure recycling services access to the public.”

The state’s Covered Device Recycling Act, which took effect January 24, 2013, requires all Pennsylvania residents to recycle their computers and peripheral devices through certified recyclers. Commonwealth Computer Recycling is making the process easier by conducting these community events on a weekly basis for residents & businesses, providing the opportunity of secure disposal of computers, servers, cell phones, and other data containing devices.

Commonwealth Computer Recycling conducts many of their community events with non-profit organizations, such as libraries and churches. “It has been a great experience to help raise over $11,000 for non-profit organizations over the past year.”

During the event, Commonwealth Computer Recycling will also be providing off-site hard drive data destruction. If visitors would like the peace of mind that their sensitive information is properly destroyed, the company will do so for just $10 per hard drive.

The computer recycling and data destruction event will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 27 at 1822 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw, PA 15116.

Commonwealth Computer Recycling, based in Greensburg, is a DEP permitted, R2 & RIOS certified recycling facility. To learn more about the company and to access a list of recyclable items, visit http://www.ccrcyber.com.
