The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) is holding its 2011 Annual Meeting at Hunter College on September 24th, and would like to invite any and all who are interested in sustainability in the built environment.
Online, August 26, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) would like to invite any and all who have a passion for sustainability in the built environment to attend our 2011 Annual Meeting on September 24th for networking and speakers.
This year's meeting will be held at CUNY Institute for Sustainable Cities at Hunter College. Delivering the keynote address at this event is Mr. Projjal Dutta, Director of Sustainability for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Through his extensive professional background and his present work with the MTA, Mr. Dutta has witnessed great improvements in the energy performance of buildings, a figure which ignores the often enormous amount of energy required to transport people and goods to and from buildings. He will address the energy impacts of transportation and how they can be improved. Mr. Dutta will speak on the energy impacts of transportation, how they impact structural energy efficiency ratings, and how they can be improved.
Also joining us will be Carina Molnar of CUNY Institute for Sustainable Cities. Carina is the Collaborative Programs Manager for the Institute for Sustainable Cities, and she will speak about City Atlas New York, an innovative, bottom-up sustainability plan that provides everyday citizens with a platform to design, discuss, and participate in new ideas for New York City. The event will also feature updates from NESEA's Executive Director, Jennifer Marrapese. The evening will begin and end with networking sessions. In between will be the NESEA Update and presentations from Mr. Dutta and Ms Molnar. Attendees are encouraged to continue conversations started during the networking sessions at off-site social engagements later in the evening.
The Annual Meeting is typically attended by members and non-members alike. NESEA is a multi-disciplinary organization and as such NESEA gatherings are always very informative for professionals and consumers alike. This is a great opportunity for those who are passionate about sustainability to come together to network, learn, and share. Those not presently holding a membership with NESEA are encouraged to attend. Space is limited, so please visit www.nesea.org to RSVP.
