Not Your Typical Flight Of Wine
Online, March 8, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Life is too short to be kept boring. So why don't you surprise Dad this Father's Day and do something he's never done before. Sometimes it's more exciting to be close to the danger zone than to be stuck in his comfort zone. With that in mind, you will want to include this unusual place in your travel plans this year and deviate from the routine tourist stuff. Father's Day weekend means one thing to FlyHigh Vineyard/LongSword Vineyard's tasting room -the 10th Annual USA 2012 National Rat Race Paragliding Competition, a seven-day bonanza of flying competitions and in-the air camaraderie. Paragliders and spectators from around the world will flock to Woodrat Mountain in Ruch, Oregon launch site to catch thermals and travel from the top of Woodrat to the valley below. For the paragliders who learn a great deal in a very short time as they fly their best, have a great time and rub shoulders with the best pilots in the sport.
While Dad and onlookers sit in the tasting patio which looks right at the launch site and is a great way to view gliders floating through the sky or as they land in the adjacent field. Spectators can watch events from Noon to 6:00 p.m. free of charge. FlyHigh Vineyard/Long Sword Vineyard's tasting room offers Chef Jay's fine cuisine drizzled with Shibiu, area vegetables and fruits, live local musicians, flights of wine including their award winning Accolade and lots of great seating. Father's Day weekend kicks off a three-month swing of events at Woodrat Mountain. All of which continue to land in FlyHigh Vineyard/LongSword Vineyard's adjacent field. So come join the fun and be sure to bring your binoculars. www.fhlvllc.com

About Fly High/LongSword Vineyard
LongSword Vineyard/Fly High Vineyard formed beneficial partnership to create award winning wine. While the grapes are kept separate, the vineyards now share a common logo. LongSword, a translation of Largaespada, and Fly High, honoring David King's flying days, are merged in the FHLV label, featuring the outline of pilot's wings with a biplane silhouette flying above an unsheathed sword.
