Notable Films This Fall

Adelphi University shows a variety of entertaining and educating films this fall on its Garden City campus.

For four days in the beginning of October the Hamptons become Hollywood when they host their annual International Film Festival. But they're not the only hot spots for relevant films - check out what Adelphi University is showing this fall season on its Garden City campus at the Performing Arts Center (AUPAC), 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. From the political to opera and ballet alongside films that portray hunger in America and unemployment on Long Island - Adelphi offers the following must-see cinematic ventures:

•Sunday, September 30 at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 7 at 6:00 p.m. La Traviata, part of the Opera in Cinema 2012 series, shown in high definition in the AUPAC concert hall. $20.

•Monday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. Bob Roberts (1992), part of the Big Screen Politics series in the AUPAC concert hall. FREE.
