Washington, D.C., January 19, 2010 - National Strategies LLC (NSI), a Washington-based government consulting firm that grew 300 percent the past 18 months, is creating two new companies, Interpoint Group and Kratos Global Strategies (Kratos), to spearhead its aggressive plans for expansion, NSI chief executive officer Al Gordon announced today.
"The launch of these new firms builds upon the addition of Paul Johnson to our team," said Gordon. "NSI's tremendous growth in a challenging business climate is a testament to the measurable value we provide clients. With the expanded capabilities offered by Interpoint Group and Kratos, we're counting on significant sustained growth throughout 2010."
Interpoint Group will serve as a management company platform for building an expanded array of services beyond NSI's signature government markets consulting. NSI's current management team - CEO Al Gordon, president Tim Onoff, and chief operating officer Donna Harris - will serve as Interpoint Group's leadership team as vice chairs, along with Paul Johnson, the former Fleishman-Hillard executive who recently joined NSI, and who will now serve as CEO of Kratos. Additionally, Tim Onoff will become CEO of NSI Government Relations and Donna Harris will become CEO of NSI.
Kratos will be Interpoint Group's first venture, a strategic business consultancy that offers clients expertise in public affairs, strategic communications, grassroots, ally development, coalition building, and other disciplines. Kratos has offices in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Ga, Tallahassee, Fla., Albany, N.Y., New York City, and Brussels, as well as San Francisco and St. Louis, bringing two cities to NSI's network. Kratos also boasts an industry-leading network of more than 2,000 bipartisan consultants located in every state capital and in major markets throughout the U.S.
Interpoint Group and Kratos are underwritten by NSI's financial partner, Pegasus Capital Advisors L.P., a private equity firm with $1.8 billion in assets that owns a majority position in NSI. "Kratos is well positioned to meet clients' needs in a new economy and we're confident the company will generate a new model for doing business," said Craig Cogut, Pegasus founder and co-managing partner.
"NSI has created measurable 'return on investment' for its customers - that same philosophy will be at the heart of all Interpoint Group offerings, beginning with Kratos," Johnson said. "We're committed to earning our clients' trust and becoming their long-term business partner. In our view, communications is an offensive weapon that will strengthen reputations, generate new revenue streams, and expand business opportunities."
Johnson noted that Kratos, like its sister company, NSI, will offer eight practice groups that thread across all divisions of the company: Healthcare and Human Services, Sustainability, Energy, Financial Services, Homeland Security and Public Safety, Infrastructure, Education, and Technology and Telecom.
