NVNA and Hospice Diabetes Self-Management Program Recognized by the American Diabetes Association
Online, June 30, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Norwell, Mass - June 30, 2010 - NVNA and Hospice, the only independent visiting nurse association and hospice serving Boston's South Shore, was recently awarded the prestigious American Diabetes Association (ADA) Education Recognition Certificate for a quality diabetes self-management program. NVNA and Hospice was first recognized by the ADA in 2007. The ADA believes this program offers high-quality education that is an essential component of effective diabetes treatment.
The Diabetes Self-Management Education program offered by NVNA and Hospice provides diabetes education through group education sessions. Clients meet with a registered dietician or certified diabetes educator for an individual assessment, and also participate in a series of four group sessions that cover all aspects of diabetes management, from basic information to advanced level skill. The Diabetes Self-Management Education program is covered by most insurance plans. For more information on the Diabetic Self-Management Education Program, please contact NVNA and Hospice at 781-659-2342.
