NYC Nursing Home Network Centers for Specialty Care Group Shares the Love at Wyckoff Hospital Event
Centers for Specialty Care Group, a network of rehab centers in New York, contributed to the annual Wyckoff Hospital Cancer Survivor Picnic by providing free beauty makeovers and gifts to survivors and other guests.
Online, September 16, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Joyful purple and white balloons abounded at the Wyckoff Hospital Cancer Survivor Picnic on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, where NYC nursing home network Centers for Specialty Care Group provided free makeovers and ribbons to cancer survivors, among other party favors. Available online at http://www.CFSCGOnline.com, the long and short term care network's Brooklyn, Bushwick, Queens, and Holliswood Care Centers participated in the event.
"The Wyckoff Hospital Cancer Survivor Picnic was a celebration of life, recognizing the inspiring patients, caring doctors and staff, and revolutionary medical techniques that make it possible to live through this devastating disease. Centers for Specialty Care Group was happy to be a part of that celebration," said Kenneth Rozenberg, CEO of the nursing home therapy network.
In observance of the 25th National Cancer Survivors' Day (NCSD), the outdoor Wyckoff Hospital Cancer Survivor Picnic featured free makeovers by makeup artists for survivors and their guests, as well as a selection of favors designed to promote awareness.
Four of Centers for Specialty Care Group's 13 NYC nursing homes participated in the event. The conveniently located 215-bed Brooklyn Center for Rehabilitation and Residential Healthcare and the 225-bed Bushwick Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare were in attendance; featuring a 100-patient adult day care program, the Bushwick Center is getting ready to launch a new kidney dialysis treatment stations like those in the Centers' Bronx Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. The 179-bed Queens Center for Rehabilitation and Residential Healthcare and the 314-bed Holliswood Care Center, both of the borough of Queens, N.Y., also participated.
"Our NYC rehab center presence was strong at this event, but Centers for Specialty Care Group's locations extend beyond the New York metropolitan area into Upstate New York. The Rome Center for Health and Rehabilitation, for example, features 160 beds and an intimate 25-slot adult day care program a tranquil 30 minutes from Utica," Rozenberg said.
No stranger to community outreach, Centers for Specialty Care Group also stepped up in the New York area during Hurricane Irene by housing nearly 100 evacuated NYC nursing patients in its Brooklyn, Bushwick, Bronx, Queens, and Holliswood Care Centers, as well as the Boro Park Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, a new member of the Centers for Specialty Care Group family.
