NYC's First Bar Method Location Opening April 24 in SoHo

New York City exercise enthusiasts will have a new way to sculpt and reshape their bodies with the opening of the first NYC Bar Method™ location in SoHo on April 24. Located at 155 Spring Street, this studio will provide the legendary classes Bar M

The Bar Method is an hour-long, barre-based workout that is designed to create a uniquely lean, firm, sculpted body. The method integrates the fat-burning format of interval training, the muscle-shaping technique of isometrics, the elongating principles of dance conditioning, and the science of physical therapy to create a powerful exercise system that quickly and safely reshapes your entire body.
The result is a Bar Method Body, featuring firm, elongated muscles, reduced body fat, improved posture and, more specifically, long, narrow thighs, a lifted seat, sculpted arms and strong flat abdominals. The Bar Method is non-impact and can even be used as type of physical therapy for those recovering from injuries.
SoHo location owners Amy Duffey and Kristin Kelleher are excited to introduce New York City residents to The Bar Method, which has changed the shape - and lives - of so many, including celebrities Drew Barrymore, Lisa Rinna, Ginnifer Goodwin, Eve and Zooey Deschanel. Duffey and Kelleher have over 13 years of combined experience teaching The Bar Method. They both worked as Bar Method instructors in San Francisco under the direction of The Bar Method founder and franchisor Burr Leonard. Both have extensive backgrounds in business management, training and development and understand how to challenge and motivate students to achieve their fitness goals safely and effectively.
"Becoming a Bar Method teacher has changed my life and is quite possibly the single most rewarding thing I have done," says Duffey. "What I love most about teaching is interacting with my clients on a daily basis and being a part of significant and meaningful changes in their lives; their bodies change shape, their posture and flexibility get better, and typically, as a result, their self confidence and self esteem improve. I am confident we can deliver barre fitness to New Yorkers in a way that doesn't yet exist in the city!"
The SoHo location will feature three studios, locker rooms with showers and a coffee bar and will offer classes throughout the day, ranging from early morning to late evening in order to accommodate clients' busy schedules.
"The Bar Method impacts people's lives in so many positive ways, physically, mentally and emotionally," says Kelleher. "We have heard from many people in New York City who were introduced to The Bar Method on the West Coast that living without it has been very difficult, especially since they have not been able to find anything as safe and effective. New Yorkers' excitement about our arrival is inspiring and makes our Soho launch all the more special."
Packages are available for purchase online and at the SoHo studio.
