October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month And Salons Are Doing Their Part

Every year, millions of women suffer with breast cancer, and Regis, the salon giant, has organized a fundraising promotion to show support for the cause and for their clients.

Every year, we are reminded of the very real threat of breast cancer as little pink ribbon begin to sprout up everywhere in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Regis, the salon giant, has begun a campaign to help with the cause and raise money for research in the field, hoping to someday find a cure for this horrible disease which plagues millions of women.

Clip For The Cure, an event sponsored by the Regis Family of brands plans to raise more than $1 million to aid in breast cancer research this year. At more than 7,400 locations across the country, participating salons donated 10% of their proceeds from every haircut on October 1st to the cause and continue to raise money throughout the month.

On top of haircuts, 10% of all Regis products sold from brands such as DESIGNLINE, Cost Cutters Professional, and MasterCuts M|C line will also be donated to the foundation for the duration of the month.

For the entire month, all of Regis' participating locations will also have additional donation opportunities to allow their patrons to make a difference as well. To date, they have already raised more than $8 million for the cause and last year alone brought in $1 million, with the hopes that this year's fundraiser will exceed their goal.

Participating Regis salons will also have limited edition pink products available to purchase in store, including Breast Cancer Awareness pins for $1. Elad Beauty, a salon equipment manufacturer, strongly supports this effort and hopes that Regis and other salons will be able to join together and make a difference in this cause.

With over 50,000 stylists participating in the Regis Family alone, Clip For The Cure has become a strong foundation for breast cancer awareness, and all over the country, this and other organizations are doing their part to remind us just how important cancer research is, and giving us all an opportunity to chip in and help find the cure.
