OECD delivers a portable electronic version of the Model Tax Convention using eComPress.
Online, September 29, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Sydney, Australia - September 29, 2009 - Leading Australian developer of electronic publishing technology, Eurofield Information Solutions (EIS), today announced that the OECD is rolling out a secure portable electronic eComPress version of the OECD Model Tax Convention on Income and on Capital 2008 (MTC). This publication is now available for distribution through specifically designed secure USB's, which have been produced using EIS's eComPress Technology.
The new secure USB version of the MTC has been enthusiastically received by the existing subscriber base. What has been particularly interesting is the growth of new subscribers predominantly from non OECD countries. According to Matt Brosius, Source OECD and Corporate Marketing Manager, the OECD is anticipating growth in the uptake of the publication in its electronic form by as much as 20% from the previous version.
Brosius attributes this growth partly to the growing use of the MTC by non-member countries, and partly to the portable nature of the publication along with some core capabilities provided by the eComPress technology. These include the fast sophisticated search capability that enables the speedy receipt of highly relevant results, the easy-to-use synchronised navigation and the powerful MultiView screen facility that provides simultaneous searching and viewing of up to four different sections of the publication (such as Articles, Commentary, History, Country Positions and Related Reports). These features are supported by the eComPress Notes annotation capability- allowing users to personalise their Tax Convention with their own commentary, and to Collaborate in Context by sharing these notes with other users.
"In a globalising market where information is becoming a commodity that can be traded at the speed of light, being electronic is something one has to do to remain competitive." says Brosius. "eComPress makes our electronic delivery strategy secure, effective and reliable."
