Oliver Wight Appoint New Consultant for Germany
Online, May 14, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Business improvement specialists, Oliver Wight EAME have appointed a new consultant, for their European operation. Birgit Breitschuh who joins the consultancy firm from Wrigley (part of the Mars Group) will be based in Munich, Germany.
Oliver Wight CEO, Les Brookes says, "Birgit has huge experience in innovation and supply chain management from her 20 years working for major FMCG companies, and we are delighted to have her join our team."
Before joining Wrigley, Breitschuh worked at Unilever and Kraft, and has held roles spanning research & development, new product introduction and process development, demand and supply planning, master scheduling and third-party manufacturing. When it comes to the pursuit of business excellence, she believes that personal engagement at all levels of the organisation is key to success: "When you are working with suppliers across different cultural and geographical boundaries, you have to create strong, mutually beneficial relationships if you are to secure the best long-term utilisation of your assets," she says.
At Wrigley, Breitschuh led a major regional deployment of Integrated Business Planning throughout the organization's supply network and 35 markets across Europe, providing process, structure, coaching and guidance to all business units.
Breitschuh who studied at the Technical University of Berlin and the Federal Institute of Technology in Switzerland, has a Ph.D. in Food Engineering, which she says inspired her passion for innovation. "It was an applied research doctorate and I was able to immediately transfer what I'd learned to industry," she explains.
Breitschuh speaks fluent Dutch, Greek and English as well as her native German.
