OliveWoo.com Launches At Techcrunch Disrupt Conference
OliveWoo, a new startup out of silicon valley, reinvented online dating this week at Techcrunch Disrupt, a technology conference in New York City. OliveWoo launched a service useful from the very first date to beyond a 50th wedding anniversary.
Online, May 28, 2010 (Newswire.com) - OliveWoo, a startup whose mission is to fix online dating, launched at Techcrunch Disrupt. "We are the first dating site that actually wants its users to go on dates," said OliveWoo Founder, Andrew Levy. "We're helping users along the entire life cycle of a relationship, not just the first date." Couples as well as singles can discover, create, and review date ideas.
OliveWoo is pioneering a model vastly different from what you see in the current online dating industry where companies are actually incentized to keep users from meeting people -- they earn more subscription revenue when you're single!
By focusing the site around date activities, OliveWoo has formalized the asking out process and can know when a user actually goes on a date. This allows OliveWoo to tackle problems that have been plaguing dating sites for years. For example, asking for post-date reviews allows us to calculate the accuracy of someone's profile against how they are perceived in real life.
OliveWoo is launching the site with an iPad giveaway focused on creating Date Cards, see the contest page for more details.
