On-Demand Digital Concierge Service Djenee Launches Headquarters in Singapore

Using Djenee is as easy as speaking to your Apple Watch.

These days, getting something done means turning on the screen to a device and launching an app. However, if all this talk of the death of apps is anything to go by, Djenee (read ‘Genie’) is set to change that.

Djenee, a personal, on-demand digital concierge service has a simple promise. Much like services like Magic in the US, users can text Djenee to do just about anything. Djenee then works to fulfill that request as quickly as possible, as long as it’s “legal or physically possible”, so Djenee Co-Founder and CEO Pär Helgosson claims.

“People have busy lives, and are desperately trying to simplify. Tech hasn’t done much to solve that problem. There are a million apps out there and we’re still as busy as ever, if not busier. This is why we built Djenee. You simply ask Djenee, and it gets done,” said Helgosson.

A Service Pedigree

Helgosson and his team were previously from The Service Corporation, specializing in providing sourcing and support services to high-growth companies. With decades of experience, the team is focusing its energies and expertise on making Djenee the next phenomenon in service delivery.

That is why the team built the Djenee  user experience to be as easy as sending a text. Apart from that, users can also punch it in on the webpage, or on an email, or through the Djenee’s app. Last month, Djenee also launched on the Apple Watch, which makes using Djenee as easy as turning your wrist, and speaking.

“We wanted to help people do stuff with the lowest possible friction, with the least fuss, so they can get back to doing the things they want” said Helgossen.

Launching Djenee

The service is currently running in Sweden and is looking to launch its first Asian operations hub in Singapore in July 2015. As part of their launch plans, Djenee will be raising funds through an equity crowd-funding campaign on FundedByMe, over the next month.

“Our vision has been is to build a service layer over the world, one city at a time. We see Sweden and Singapore as epicentres for growth, and after that we are setting our sights to rapidly expand to main metropolitan centres with high mobile penetration, all around the world,” said Helgosson.

The upside for Djenee is highly promising, as they ride the waves of mobile commerce and on-demand services. The market opportunity is immense; analysts at Digi-Capital estimate the global market for mobile commerce to triple 2014's US$300 billion to become US$850 billion by 2018.
